Sun seeker
My poor girl struggles in the cold, and she often seeks out this little patch of winter sun that streams into our kitchen at lunchtime. I feed her up on porridge for lunch, which keeps a smile on her dial :)

A winter's afternoon...
I spent a lovely afternoon with this gorgeous family today, we had so much fun racing around, blowing bubbles and eating lollies (thanks for sharing Jaimie!) Jaimie loved the toy camera I brought for him, I think you have a budding photographer on your hands Vanessa!
Thank you for a lovely afternoon Vanessa! I'll be in touch with your gallery soon xx

Happy girl
Bella is going through a lovely phase (how often do I get utter that phrase?!) where she is just bubbling over with happiness. She will break out in random fits of giggles, and I often glance over and catch her looking off in space, with this contented look on her face. I was thrilled to capture it yesterday, and although this photo breaks every focus rule out there, I love it. Dreamy, giggly and just happy...
After an amazing weekend spent with some AMAZING women, I'm feeling a little like Bella myself. I'll be back to tell you all about it soon.

Little Oliver
I had the pleasure of capturing the newness of little Oliver yesterday. His mum Jade is a friend and I was thrilled to be asked to meet Oliver and do his newborn pictures. Jade writes a wonderful blog, head over and check it out for some inspirational posts on motherhood, her gorgeous home and incredible organising skills! (and yes, I do wish I had bothered to blow dry my hair that morning!!). I know Jade is waiting patiently for this sneak peek so I'll get on with it!
I love this first one because of his kooky little pose! Sometimes it is nice to just let newborns chose their comfiest position, rather than pose them for a change. I love the funny, quirky ways they drift off to sleep.
This last one is a new favourite of mine. I see this little human, starting this incredible journey of life. After meeting his family, and seeing the love, fun and warmth he is being welcomed into, I know it will be an amazing life for him.
Thanks so much for a wonderful morning Jade, I'll be in touch soon with your gallery xx

Full of colour
I'm so excited to share this session with you! Karen is a very close friend of mine, and has always been a huge supporter of mine and my passion for photography. She and the kids were my very first shoot, 2 years ago when I was tossing around the idea of sometime, maybe, in the very distant future, starting a photography business, if I ever took the leap. She gave me that first push :) So it was wonderful to go back and have another session with them, as a "proper" photographer this time!
We decided to shoot down in old Fremantle, it is such a beautiful area full of interesting little spots. But I never realised how colourful it was, and was thrilled to find such beautiful old painted doors and walls. It made sense to use them too, as this family is so full of life, and colour and zest. Here's a little sneak peek of the beautiful colours and smiles I found :)
I just want to tell you a little about what this last image means to me. This would have to rate as one of my top 3 favourite images ever. It makes my heart sing. The colour, her shy smile, and the realisation that this little 4 year old is in the safest place in the world, in her Dad's arms, and you can see how happy she is there. Karen was very close to her dear dad, and I am thrilled to capture the similar relationship her daughter shares with her own papa.
I have the best job ever.
Karen, thank you for such a wonderful afternoon, and for 6 years of a precious friendship. I can't tell you what you mean to me :)

Sleeping beauty - perth newborn photographer
I had the pleasure of photographing this baby girl recently, and was blown away by the calm and gentle way this family interacted. Gemma and Ciaran are doing a great job coping with new parenthood, enjoying the ride and taking it all in their stride. The result is this gorgeous girl who is as calm and relaxed as her mum and dad.
Gemma and Ciaran, thank you for sharing your little one with me, I hope you enjoy the images.
